This is a bit about our club, it's birth, it's
achievements and our future aims.
THE CLUB
In September 2006 a small group of players got
together and decided to start a club in the South to
reduce the distances they had to travel to train and
play. Since then we have introduced the sport to a
number of new players some of whom have gone on
to represent the UK. Hannah Fletcher and Joe
Hopkins in 2009 represented the UK in Ireland for the
Tri Nations.
Over the past few years, even though the club is
quite young, we have notched up numerous
tournament wins in E, D and C grade. Most noteably
the National Championships in 2007 (D & C grade,
our first season) and 2008 (E grade).
We are looking forward to the 2012 season where we
will be striving to improve on our achievements.
We are based in Hampshire, near Fareham. We
always welcome new people/players to our club so
feel free to email or phone any of our contacts if you
are interested in trying polocrosse.
We are a friendly bunch and are committed to our
sport and our horses. Recruiting new players is very
important to the development of the sport. It is
another discipline that you may wish to try. This
sport will improve your horsemanship and equine
partnership which will enhanceyour performance in
other disciplines.
We are very fortunate to have our own UK Squad member,
Kerry Bean as our coach. Kerry has represented the UK on
numerous occassions winning Female of the Series during
the South African test in 2000 and Female of the Series
at the Tri Nations in Ireland in 2009. She began by playing
her Welsh Section D in 1993. It was a bit different than the
show jumping and cross country he was used to but
enjoyed it just the same! This reiterates that any horse or
pony can turn their hoof to polocrosse.
Our training usually begins in February and this would be
indoors at Quob Equestrian Centre, Durley. Once the weather
improves we move outside to continue training prior to the
season starting in May, the season runs until September. All
tournaments are optional however to qualify to play in the
National Championships at the end of the season, you must
have played a minimum of two tournaments during the
season. The tournaments take us all over the country
including Kent, Essex, Midlands, Wales, Yorkshire and
Doncaster, normally over a whole weekend (Friday evening -
Sunday afternoon). The horses almost like camping as much
as we do!

Next we have some of the crew that run our wonderful club:
